Two Diamonds
Founded by Vehbi Koç and opened in 1956 on Cumhuriyet Avenue in Elmadağ beside Taksim Gezi Park, Divan Istanbul was rebuilt to plans by Thierry Despont and reopened in September 2011: 191 rooms and suites, Lokanta by Divan and Maromi, both Michelin-recommended, the Divan Pub and patisserie, a 2,000-square-metre spa with a semi-Olympic indoor pool, and six meeting rooms.
