Opened on 1 May 1975 as the Sheraton Istanbul and run as the Ceylan InterContinental from the mid-1990s, InterContinental Istanbul is a tower in Gümüşsuyu above Taksim Gezi Park, beside the Lütfi Kırdar convention centre: about 390 rooms including 53 suites, the City Lights restaurant and bar on the top floor with Bosphorus views, an outdoor pool and a spa, a few minutes' walk from Taksim Square.
