A 19th-century raki distillery on the Bosphorus at Çengelköy, converted by the founding family and opened as a hotel in 2005, Sumahan on the Water keeps the industrial shell and fills it with 13 rooms and suites, most facing the water, a waterside restaurant and garden, a hamam and a library, with the hotel's own launch carrying guests across the strait.
